Since pandas are considered national treasures in China, is it allowed to take panda as pet by law? If so, how much will it be? Given the leasing price of one million dollar per year, the purchasing price will be well beyond that. Well, the owner of the “panda” above didn’t spend that much. It is said that she was stopped by police scores of times, but was later released quickly. And she is not the only one, it is the new trend to own a “panda“ now, especially among the younger generations.
How can it be? It turns out the “pandas” are not real pandas, but the dogs being dressed like pandas. It is now a special service in many pet stores. They are called village version of panda (山寨熊猫). If your pet is white and round, jut bring it to a store with the coloring service. They will dye the hair to black at certain areas. Within one or two days, you can turn your snow white to a little panda. Just make sure that you can quickly point out the difference of a dog and a panda, or bring some proof. Otherwise, you may need to spend more time to explain to police than enjoying walking your new pet.
