With the world’s largest population, public facilities are always in high demand in China. As summer comes, the swimming pools everywhere is always packed. It is often called cooking dumplings (煮饺子) instead of swimming in slang. As you can see from the following figure, one can barely stand in the swimming pool, not to say swimming.

As a side note, this photo is the scene of a large indoor beach (Chinese Dead Sea) in Sichuan, where the devastating earthquake just hit two months ago. People started to go out again and enjoy life. Anyway, the life is short. As for comparison, the following photo is the one took in 2007 at the same place.
